As an attorney working with a family providing care to an elderly parent, Anita and AGB and Associates were able to help sort through all the issues, identify the things that needed to be done, and provide a clear plan of action for all involved. Their knowledge of aging life care issues was very helpful, and their compassion and professionalism was evident throughout the process.
Thank you for your assistance with evaluating the care needs of my mother. Your professionalism and sound advice have been greatly appreciated by me and my siblings.
Soon after my mother suffered a massive stroke in 2005, Anita Baker became the primary care manager for my mother as well as my personal sanity check. She and her colleagues were with me every step of the way in monitoring my mother’s care and in guiding me in my decision-making.
During our frequent meetings, Anita gave advice and educated me about what was happening with my mother. Her day-to-day advice was helpful and very calming; however, it was the advice during the crisis situations where Anita and her colleagues really proved their worth. Thanks to them, I knew that my mother received the best possible care as long as she lived.
I recommend Anita Baker without reservation in any and all facets of eldercare. She is an excellent, professional caregiver herself. She is knowledgeable and able to advise on what actions to take or not, and she is capable of dealing with caregivers and healthcare facilities and their personnel to ensure that her client is receiving the highest level of care.
When my brother and I relocated from Ohio to Myrtle Beach to live without snow and rejuvenate the next part of our lives, we left behind our family and friends. As exciting as this change was, a major concern for me was health care planning. Who would speak for me in the event of a catastrophe? Who would be at my side through sickness or accident rehabilitation? My brother is deaf, and although he communicates very well person-to-person, phone calls are not possible, so how could medical personnel communicate with him in case of emergency?
Fortunately, AGB and Associates provided the answers to my concerns. Although I am not at the geriatric stage of life, I need someone to help me maneuver through the difficult road of medical communication, and be authorized as my HIPPA contact to share information from my doctors with my brother and relatives who don’t live nearby. As a Life Care client of AGB and Associates, Anita Baker has become my partner on this journey, ensuring that these concerns can be addressed and necessary communications can be completed.
I became familiar with Anita Baker and AGB and Associates when we needed to make decisions regarding our father (who was suffering from Alzheimer’s) after my stepmother passed away. He was in a retirement home and even though we had family around we needed help in which direction to go with his care. Anita was referred to us and she was truly a Godsend. With her calm, caring nature she walked with us through every step the last year of his life as we made decisions regarding his care, facilities, sitters, treatment, medication, strategies, etc. There were many times we didn’t know what to do and we would look at each other and say “Call Anita.”
I have had the pleasure of referring some families to Anita who have told me how thankful they are for her and how she is helping through some very difficult times with ailing family members. As I said, she was very helpful for us who have family members close by but she is particularly helpful for those who don’t have family members close by to the member in need.
